Where to find the animals

Etosha National Park Namibia

Animal spotting in Etosha is much easier than some places because of the large open spaces (nowhere for the animals to hide), and the hot conditions (the animals are constantly visiting waterholes), so the best way is to stake out a waterhole and see what visits, as usual best times are the first 2 hours after sunrise and 2 hours before sunset. All the shops in the park sell road maps to plan your trips. There is also an animal sighting board in each camp, these will guide you as to where certain animals were spotted recently.
NOTE you must be either out of the park or back in the restcamp before sunset, gate closing times are posted at each entrance.
